A new beer from Firestone Walker.  Brewed through the Red Nectar Ales line, sold where ever you can find Red Nectar Ales, ie BevMo.

style:

Russian Imperial Stout
Aged in Bourbon Barrels
Alcohol By Volume - 13%
Color - Black
IBU - 50.0

malts:

15% OATS / HOPPED WITH 100% US GROWN FUGGLES

I haven't had it yet!  11% ABV needs to be aged.  I think i will go to the taproom and try a pint before I open the bottle to try it.  I will let you know though

we tried one the other night after work. FANTASTIC!
Deep caramel flavors and the bourbon really comes through. Somewhat herbal notes that I could not specify. A lot of fruit as well... berries and some stone fruit. Long lingering finish.
I agree that it will do well to age, but the layers of flavors are very individualistic right now and that will not be the case a year from now.
Worth the $15 price? Hmmmm.... I would rather split it with a friend. Big enough that one glass is a good dose.
